The key aim of the MELODY project, articulated in six inter-related, innovative Intellectual Outputs (IOs), is to develop a set of useful tools for teachers working in schools to support young people who have learning disorders, preventing drop-out and/or early school leaving.
All MELODY partners will undertake research and identify best practice examples of working methods/approaches of supporting with young people who have learning disorders within the school’s context in their partner countries. The IO lead, Desincoop will prepare a comparative report of findings.

The MELODY partnership will develop a toolkit for teachers which provides guidance and practical resources for teachers working with young people with learning disorders who are at risk of early school leaving. The IO Lead SPIR OSLO will design the framework and support the production of the content for the Toolkit.

The E-learning module for teachers that aims to provide the teachers involved with a valid context and training tool directly addressed to the target groups (self-training) with the aim of providing all the necessary information on the good practices already in place, on the results obtained, on the need to identify and contrast prejudices in order to favour a collaborative and inclusive approach between those who will then deal with the final beneficiaries. The IO Lead CRIA will design the E-learning framework and support the production of the content of the E-Learning modules package.

The Toolkit will be tested with teachers in schools with feedback and case studies developed and produced as a report of findings and actions required for the final toolkit product. The IO lead, IC SPOLTORE will design the reporting template and coordinate the production of the findings and final report. This will produce the final Teacher Toolkit for the MELODY Project.

The MELODY Charter will be developed to ensure that the use of the Toolkit and E-Learning Modules is used by teachers/schools who share a commitment to a framework of support and understanding within which a young person with learning disorders can build on existing skills and talents as well as develop new skills; thus leading to greater levels of achievement and retention for all learners. The IO Lead Antares, will support the design of the MELODY Charter template and if appropriate the self-assessment framework that may form part of the charter.
